FISHING REPORT

STRIPED BASS -- I'd like to say the Spring Run in the Connecticut River is well underway instead I have to say well it's underway. There's schoolies and some bass over 30" but they're scattered with sporadic reports of big number catches. The best reports we're hearing is to keep moving until you locate a school and while you're looking for schools of smaller bass you'll probably run into a couple of larger ones. The anglers fishing bait from shore are scoring with more consistency and size from Saybrook Point to Middletown.
We got the first reports of bass in Plum Gut yesterday, this is generally the forerunner of bass on the reefs in a few days.
WINTER FLOUNDER -- Action is still best in Niantic but it has slowed from the reports of last week.
BLACKFISH -- Some nice sized blacks have come off the breakwaters this week. Clinton, Westbrook and New Haven Breakwaters have been doing well, but the reefs are starting to pick up just before the Spring finale. We weighed in a 10 and 15 pound black this week. The season closes on 4/30, Monday is the last day.
FLUKE - Starts May 1st in NY and RI. Connecticut doesn't start until May 15th.

TIDE CHARTS - We're going back to our old style tables that listed the heights of the tides, 4 tides a day etc. they've just arrived.
2012 FISHING REGULATIONS - We're in the final draft of our chart of CT, NY and RI regulations. I'll send the out on a separate email.
