(River head, NY July 25, 2010- Moose Anglers Raise $4,500.00 for Abused Children

Records were broke in this year's the Annual River head Moose Fluke Tournament which was held on July 24, 2010 at the Moose Lodge Marina on the beautiful Picnic River in River head, NY. There were 54 boats including 4 kayaks entries with 178 anglers with 33 children in the Jr. Division. The tournament raises money for the Suffer County Child Advocacy Center which assists abused children. The tournament is a FUN day for a GREAT cause. The tournament was filmed as an episode of Adventures In Fishing and Neighborhood Journal which air on Cable vision.

According to Tournament Chairman, Capt. Ray Kelly, the tournament had the most ever boats, anglers and this year gave the most money to the Child Advocacy Center. The tournament raised $4,500.00 for the abused children. Capt. Kelly wishes to thank all the businesses and individuals that supported the tournament and participated in the tournament. The tournament also focuses on getting children involved in fishing and this was the most children that ever participated and some of them became hooked on fishing.

The results in the Jr. Division were 3rd Place- Stephan O'Hara with a 3 lb 3 ox fluke, 2nd Place- Nick Around with a 3 lb 11 ox fluke and 1st Place- Rebecca Harris, age 13, of Hampton Bays with a 4 lb 10 oz fluke. Rebeccan won a 1st Place trophy, a $200.00 Savings Bond, a Rod and Reel Combination.and a Sterling Silver Fluke Pendant.

The results in the Adult Division were 3rd Place- Kevin Staubitz with a 4 lb 3 oz fluke, 2nd Place- Dominick Arpino with a 4 lb 6 oz fluke, and 1st Place- Vinnie Pomara of Pt. Jefferson Station with a 5 lb 5 oz fluke. Vinnie won a 1st Place trophy, $950.00 Cash, a Rod and Reel Combination and a Sterling Sliver Fluke Pendant. Vinnie gave back $100.00 to the Children Advocacy Center.
