Rigging Hex Heads
Got a 1/2 doz. various hex heads for xmas I need to rig for SBFT, Mahi, Falsies etc....for my southern NE fishing
What size hook, what # mono or fluoro, where do you want the hook to ride in relationship to the feathers etc...
Really....I'm not getting the itch
Any help appreciated

I think Admin is going to let me have this space
8-10' of 150# mono, 7/0 hook and a Jinkai LI or G crimp for the 4-6" size; perhaps an 8/0 hook for anything larger.
I rig mine w. hook close to even with the end of the feathers or skirt and don't worry if I'm an inch off either way.

backman,
Thank you!! Do you double the line up and crimp the hook so the crimp acts as a stop to keep the hook from sliding? or do you uese beads or some other form of spacer to keep the hook at the tail of the lure?
That's what these are 6" hex heads....

Anthony's Ark is a blowboater
130# leader(matieral of choice), LI crimp, one bead to space crimp from bottom of lure head, postion hook so that the bottom of extends just below tips of feathers-while point/barb remains "inside" feathers, allow hook to swing freely.

AT I use Siwash hooks w/ a large barrel swivel crimped onto the hook I generly just hand tie them to 8-10' or 80#moimoi if your hex heads have long skirts on them tie them up like I said w/ the barrel then cut the remainder of the skirt off off.
Anyone looking for Hex-Heads check out Big Eye Bait & Tackle in Snug Harbor I just sold him 150 that we made at Poly-Jig

Thanks all, All the hex heads I've ever bought from snug harbor are prerigged.....they somehow get a barrel swivel on the eye of the hook.....not sure I like that or not.....
Wayward, I'll check out Bigeye. Hope to jump on a cod boat in the next few weeks out of Snug....
