    RI fishing, what to buy?

This is going to be a Christmas gift for the old man to take the grand kids out. We already have the poles, we just need the supplies. They'll be fishing off the rocks of Galilee, or on the docks opposite the channel.

We were thinking a tackle box filled with supplies. Hooks, sinkers, bobbers, plastic baits, better fishing line (I have to find out what the test is), a multi purpose tool, and a small first aid kit. Only problem is that I've got no idea of what type of fish they can expect to catch. What type of hook sizes, baits, etc should we be getting?

That's a nice gift. I suggest hitting a local bait and tackle store, it'll cost a few bucks more, but they'll know the area and give you info that a big box store cannot.

I agree with the above - hit up Snug Harbor Tackle Store. They know that area best and will have everything you need in stock.
