    Respooling 130's

So over the winter,I'll be respooling my 130's.Right now,I've got them loaded with 200 lb Jinkai mono.I'm wondering if I should go with a hollow core braid this time,or what are some other options, and what are their advantages/disadvantages?Thanks in advance,Bobby.

    Bobby,

I had posted a similar question late last year and got some great feedback from the folks out here re: mono vs. braid, splicing vs. loop to loop, etc...

I was asking about 50s, but the same basic principles would apply for 130s. Here's the thread and should be a good start for you.

you get a lot of backing with the JB....u can use less weight due to line diameter...you could also cut your finger off on a blistering run....200 jinkai into dacron has always worked for me...and you can get two reels out of one spool Doug

So you're carrying 900 yds total? What exactly is greenspot, and how does it compare with JB,or diamond?

greenspot just dacron you can fill it with all dacron and get 600 yds or 400 dacron and hollow core on top to a top shot it saves you from putting on all hollow you will get huge amount on it and you will never use thanx doug ! we went to UNA university of north atlantic my reels have about 1000yds on them give or take 500 400 100 splice hollow into dacron to mono or not we use no mono on our kite lines with small leader 30 50 ft leader with wind on swivel the rods are set up for particular things trolling kite livebait

Unfortunately,I'm just strting out hunting big fish,I've only got 2 130s so far,and can't tailor them to specific conditions,or chores.I need to be able to use them for however I need to at any given time.
So I guess I need a good all around setup.
    Thanks guys.Y'all are great.
