renew license with a pacemaker?

I know the Coast Guard is getting picky with prescription drugs for renewing licenses. Has anyone here with a pacemaker tried to renew?

Ever since the switch to Home Land Security, the Medical dispensations have just about dried up. My home marina lost a launch operator because of a pacemaker. He previously had little trouble renewing - his doctor would write an opinion note and that was it. Now they are really getting strict. My advice would be to get a politician involved. I heard that results were gained by doing that. Good Luck!
