Both make sense...I wonder how much of a difference your mounting angle to compensate for bow lift makes though. Is that necessary?? Anyone else adjust for this? Is there a standard angle?

I went 4 degrees. They sell platic wedges that can be sandwiched between the radar and the mount surface. What the angle does for you is "picks up the guy drifting worms out side the break water in a 14' alum in pea soup fog

My boat is bow light so at 14-16 MPH the bow is up....without the angle on the radar I would only see large target (markers on the break water, cargo ships etc...) not the small cans, boats etc... off the bow
