    Race Point = Southeast Expressway

I wonder how many of us fished Race Point for bass on Saturday.

I know it can get bad there but Saturday was impressive. About 100 boats, 10 kayakers and a group of people diving on the pot line.

The divers really were idiots. It was like the southeast expressway out there and your opening a lemonade stand in the middle lane.

Mayhem out there. I think it's a matter of time before a kayaker gets hurt out there.

I was there late Saturday after tuna fishing - wasn't too bad by then, got 8 in an hour.

Sunday morning back there - freaking zoo.
I did well staying away from everyone - but its a pia when you hook up and 12 wellcrafts converge on you.

IMHO the divers are out of control and are going to get someone hurt. Pulling up into a fleet of 100 boats and dropping divers is just irresponsible.

The j/o in the parker (i believe its from the diver locker in hyannis) dropped his guys all down the line and couldn't even keep track of them -- one guy was a good 2 miles from the boat last week. He's going to get one of his clients killed.

I know i'm not the only one on here that's not a fan of that guy...

Divers really piss me off!!!! I was on Devil's Bridge last fall with 50 boats. Every boat was well behaved and respectful. Most were enjoying a steady pick of bass in the mid 30 inch range.

Then a diver comes out and throws a flag right on the numbers that I had picked a fish off in three successive passes. Other boats were following my same route and enjoying the same type of success.

What gives a diver the right to throw out a flag and block off a circle with a 100 foot radius that a bunch of boaters were peacefully sharing? One guy ruins it for twenty other people...

It is sort of like walking back and forth in the cross walk on a busy street. Cars have to stop legally. So get across as fast as you can so that you don't tie up traffic. But meandering slowly or going back and forth is uncool.

maybe those large seal hunting sharks on the backside beaches will help control the diver population as well

I had a some wire way the F out on Saturday, all the way down to backing. I was bouncing bottom at 50 ft. All of a sudden my rod dumps. I think BIG bass or small tuna. It's bouncing too so I knew I didn't have bottom and I was taking line.

I look behind me and a guy going the other way is hooked up with what looks like a big fish too. After about 10 minutes up pops my jig to the surface, hooked to the other guys jig. There's two jigs in mid air, suspended by wire.

We have a good laugh. I would've won.

I see the same thing around CT/RI. Guy started yelling at me a few weeks ago as I'm going by Latimer Light coming in. His boat and the flag were on the back side of the light. Stupid spot to dive on a weekend. Just because they can doesn't mean they should.

    Careful there Dude !!

My son is a fisherman and a diver, but he behaves himself and does not dive in areas that will create a problem for others.

Don't wish something on others that you are not willing to deal with yourself.

I am an active free diver (although slow to get going with the excellent R & R this year) but there are too many boaters that have no idea what a diver flag is! If you are diving in a channel or amongst other boats you need to watch your back but just because a diver drops in the water it doesn't mean there are fish. stay away from the flag! I have been in the Race mainy times and there are lots of fish there. The guys trolling aren't catching because the fish aren't eating!! They always eat STEEL!
