Wauwinet, you're name says it all. When you have the money in the trust fund to blow away on living in Wauwinet on the exclusive east side of Nantucket, it is an easy path to pat yourself on the back being such a good liberal while all the men on this board are hard at work trying to make a profit at sea, in port, or in their day jobs, if they are lucky to still have one. Since you probably never had to worry about bouncing checks on mortgage payments or heating bills, consider the following facts:
Last night in closed-door secret negotiations, President Obama cut a sweetheart deal with the big labor unions to exempt them from taxes that this health care takeover will levy on millions of Americans. The unions just couldn't stand to be treated like everyone else, and the Democrats agreed to exempt them from the insurance tax until 2018.
Vote for Coakley and anything liberal? Here is Obamas dismal record to date.
1) He promised open government --- not delivered
2) He promised all negotiations to be broadcast on C-Span - ignored
3) He promised to rid Washington of all the lobbyists and special interest groups calling the shots --- ignored and in fact re-embraced with Big Labor playing him like a puppet
4) He promised to reduce the deficit and return us to cash neutral spending --- he and his cohorts have overseen a 10 fold increase in government spending in only 11 months with no end in sight.
5) He promised no secret deals behind closed doors --- Obama, Pelosi, et al are making any administration prior to this year look like rank amateurs. They know their time is short, and and they are trying to ram their pent up liberal agendas down our throats.
When even Massachusetts voters are fed up, things are really, really heading in the wrong direction. Its time for Americans to stand up and say no more.
Sorry, your too late - I just dropped off my absentee ballot today. That's a 1st for me, but this one feels important. There were a few others at town hall doing the same, and I had a strong feeling they were there for Scott Brown.
Maybe you should jump over to the FL forums and ask how their snapper fishing has been...
I do believe in a system of checks & balances, and we are currently heavily weighted away from it. A vote for Scott Brown will send a strong message that the will of the people wants some balance brought back. That, and relying on people like (democrat) Janet L at noaa to protect your fishing is sort of like relying on Santa to bring presents on the 8 days of Hanukka![]()
INSTEAD OF TRYING TO SCREW US GO SCREW YOURSELF!!!!!!
Its Mass we are talking about right? You know a dem is going to get in, as much as we need change around here. I wouldn't mind eating my own words though......![]()
Me and everyone I talk to.
I am sick and tired of being sick and tired.
The buzz around Brown is incredible. It's been a long time since we've had this type of candidate to get excited about.
If he can pull this election off in this god-forsaken, liberal, dark blue state (which I love to death by the way- beyond the hollow Kennedy clan/political bias-it died with RFK, deal with it), the rest of the country may very well follow.
I read earlier in this post about balance, and I couldn't agree more. This state and country are leaning so far to port that we are perilously close to scuttling the whole damn thing on the rocks. We NEED to pull the wheel back to starboard, and while I'm admittedly no pundit, I see a Scott Brown victory as getting that ball rolling in a meaningful, national sense...
When someone uses "Please" and "Ultimately" in the same thought..the hair on the back of my neck always stands up.
Then the phrase..."kiss my ..." follows.
With regards to this particular subject..a kind "what are you smoking" seems very appropriate.
A line from Jaws' comes to mind..."Hoopa ain't ya watchin it".
The Dem's is Done. History..outta here..get the big friggin floor broom out, clean sweep I tell ya.
No direct offense there Wauwinet..but im' not chewin on this Hoo..it's rotten.
Not to mention ive' stayed at the overpriced cottage they call the Wauwinet on the Emerald Isle..didn't impress me one bit..Summer House or the White Elephant is more deserving..nice but nah.
