    Penn International Service

Hey guys any one have a good place to get a couple of big Penns serviced. I think I could do it myself but am hesitant to take them apart. I am located by the canal but would mind taking them for a ride to have them serviced right.

Does anyone know if self servicing them is an easy task, I generally do all my reels over the winter when I get restless but for the cost of the reels I would rather not cause any unwanted problems.

    Thanks
    JM

Red top would take care of them. I know I have had them work on 130's before.

If your going to clean them, you'll have them stripped down anyways. What's broken?

nothing is broken (I hope) just want to have the drags checked ( maybe upgraded if anyone has a thought on that) and have the reels greased. Just a general servicing

My bad, I mis-read your post. Yeah, I mostly do my own maintanence each year, except for those fancy japanese spinning reels. The Internationals are pretty simple after the 3rd or 4th reel. Alan Tani has several posts around here that show the whole thing step by step. I just did a quick search in the reels section and found one for the 30TW.

    PS I don't use Alan's belleville "(())" stack. I use the standard **** stack (.)(.)

We also service reels and my guy does excellant work. I trust him to do my reels that I fish with so he can't be too bad. Our prices and service are very reasonable. Capt. Eric
