70's have the drags of 80's if Im not mistaken so I'd get a 70 and back w/ 200lb spectra and topshot of 130 moimoi

The 70 is a great stand up reel, I've got two, musta caught about 7 or 8 fish on those reels this year. can fish em just like the 50's theyre just a little bigger. tons of capacity, and just a bit more drag then the 50 if need be.

your on the right track with the idea, check out the fishermans outfitter.

I have a couple tiagra 80's, went with them over 50's. Not too big that you can't handle standup with them, and not too small that if you do get a big fish or are just being lazy you can stick it in the rod holder. Plus, an 80 works good as a planer reel also if you want one of those setups too.......

Cool, thanks for the feedback. I ended up going with the 70 thinking I can get a lot more line on the reel with a little more power-while at the same time I can keep fighting standup. I like our 130's but nothing matched the fun of catching that giant on the 50 so this was a good compromise.

Captain Eric hooked me up and it was a pleasure dealing with him. I checked out a couple local places but he had the best prices and he seemed more knowledgeable than most.

How many more days til lines in?

I think I like my 70's the most; we have 50's and 30's ...but the 70's seem best overall
