    Question penn 50s

    hi everyone,new to the site.with all these bigger tuna around,i am wondering if penn 50s with 80lb momoi is sufficient enough to handle them. any input would be great. Thanks.

    Not sure what you mean by bigger tuna, but, My opinion is you'll be alright in to the mid-low 70"s reliably. theres been some giants taken on 50s but your gonna fight the fish forever and whatever do plan on doing with the fish its not good: releasing, selling or eating, or having a fish spool you and break you line with 600 yds of mono following it.

    I've fished 50's for years, taken numerous 70-75" rats and 2 80+" real giants with no problem. I do have 600 yards of braid on those 50's and also do not deliberately target the real large fish when they are around.
