My source said they were taken behind Nomans/ Block Island and the other white boat was Jay Denoia of White Stallion fame.

I'm with CCRODS pretty sure they were taken behind Noman's, I used to work for a boat that fished side by side the Cookie Too, through the 80's, I vaguely remember Joe telling me that was behing Nomans.
I remember seeing those pictures in the 80's also, I think it was SPORT FISHING Magazine????????
I remember them being credited to Murray at the time because we had the same thing happen to us about 30 yards behind our boat just as we were setting up a shark slick. A friend on the boat had a camera in hand and snapped off a bunch of pics at the time. Unfortunately they were all a blur since he had the wrong speed of film in there, before digital.
I always liked those pics.
Agreed!
Yes, we got more snow than they forecasted, my friend inland had a good 8-10 in spots. We are supposed to get hit pretty hard again tomorrow night. For all you skiers out there, this was IDEAL snow.....about as light and fluffy as it gets! (Not suprising given that it was 4 degrees when I went to bed!)
Nomans/Block Island is not a guess, it is a fact! My source said both the location and the other boat without hesitation!
He mated and fished with Cookie and Paul back in the 80's for a few years, he travelled with them to Australia twenty years ago or so. He went on to purchase his own vessel and ran in a tight circle with Cookie and Joe who Innovator mentioned... Then there was a falling out in the earlier part of the nineties.
Kevin, How is the new Mac running? I could not resist!!!

Just came across this thread. I know it's old and don't knowhaw many of you are still out there and are curious. I'm pretty sure those photo's were taken off Noman's and I'm pretty sure that the boat in the backround was Don Slater Jr.'s Sea Fox, an old Williscraft. He owned a Pacemaker with the same name after. The Williscraft was called the Sheroha before he owned it. The reason that I'm pretty sure that it's his old boat is that he put up a distinct Plexiglasss (not eisenglass) half-enclosure, just front no sides, and from what I remember it's pretty evident in the pictures.
