Warm weather is for girls.

19 South shore knuckleheads went to Danforth Maine this weekend to fish the mighty East Grand Lake. Located 3 miles south of the Arctic Circle and 4 miles north of East Bumf*ck, East Grand is home to trophy salmon and Lake Trout.

While no Lakers were caught, several 4-6 lb salmon were caught. If you never done it, catching salmon through the ice is the balls. They make blistering runs and we learned that if you lock up the drag, they snap 4 lb test like nothing.

Leading the recreational category was Max Harvey with a monster 9 lb cusk.
Leading the charter category was Jay on Enoch.

I caught three dogfish.

Now that looks like a good time! I see a few of my favorite things in those pics-fire, bacon, booze, big fish, motorized toys. I have caught huge rainbows through the ice in BC Canada, a blast to say the least, we didn't have that sweet of a setup, thanks for sharing.

The only thing missing was some 1200 cc snowmobiles. The locals doing 100 mph across the lake was awesome.

Nice report! I've never been to East Grand for the ice fishing, but we do get up there during the summer for the salmon/togue fishing. It's a great part of the state/Canada for landlock fishing. The Doctor makes any ice fishing trip a good time!
