I've never seen anything like that! I also readily admit that those dudes have WAY bigger stones than me being under with all of that bait in the water. Cue up John Williams and the theme from "Jaws"...

Thanks Bryan,
Lets send this to ESA shortage of fish my a s s
During that time of year ( Mid Sept) the fish are getting pretty big. I would think the fish were ranging from 600 to 1100. The boys did say that were some really large ones coasting around. We also had a National Geographic diver in the water with them every chance he got for a month and he said he knows there was 1200 pounders and larger around. You do get the opposite of course also. There are some small fish around but they tend to stick together offshore chasing topbait. There is areas around here that the larger ones can always be found when the bait is running.
What green scientists?
You meen the conservation groups actually have science?
I have yet to see any green organization make a single reference to any time relevant scientific data.
Why hire scientists when driving around in a tiny car with a big plastic tuna on the roof is more effective?
I wont name names but there are a handful of scientists out there that pretend to be neutral by working at universities but are 100% green and would love to end our fishery. Over time it is becoming more and more obvious.
But I agree with you completely, not a bit of good real science has been presented to argue for the ESA, and actually there has been a lot of good science that speaks against it.

It would have been sweet if they tagged some of those fish.
The other thing that I got from that is, if the fish are eating then it seems they are not shy.
Are Fluorocarbon leaders just an added expense? Seems to me you could have floated a bait out there and it would have been eaten so long as it was free floating down.
