Buddy caught this bad boy today in Corpus Christi TX. 12.5' long, 77" girth (I think that's what he said), estimated weight 1008 pounds. Tagged and released.

Oh, almost forgot to mention: Al caught the big tiger from shore stand-up.


Awesome fish, and accomplishment, I thought. I was down there a couple months ago, but we didn't hook anything like that...

Nice catch. A friend just showed me a picture from Fla. The state record was just broke from 544 lb. Thresher to a 650 lb Thresher. Was on CNN

I've seen bigger fish taken from shore on Egypt Beach in Scituate (on light tackle).

Also, is the blurry nature of the photo intentional so as to hide where this savory looking crew inflated the "shark"?
