Thought some of you might be interested in the number of hits for the three NOAA buoys that affect us the most, 44017,44025, and 44066-Texas Tower 4.
It is clear that all our buoys provide important information to all of us that travel offshore. Take for example the new one. Just yesterday NOAA forecast 1-2 foot seas and when we got out there is was honking 15-21 knots and 3-5s. Taking a read on these moored systems probably deterred some guys from going out and taking an ass beating. Others knew their boat and crew capabilities but still had the facts of conditions before going out. Goes to show the hunter instinct is as big in humans as in pelagics!!
I think the uptick in 44066 hits in September is due to the offshore crew looking for the weather windows while the inshore shows a bit of a drop in activity by boaters. Interesting?
