Gave it a full 30 seconds to eat and set the hook. Fish on. I handed it off to Theresa who was already fitted in the harness and belt and the fight was on. Then the line went slack. Explicative@!! Before we could figure out what was going on the near bait goes off and quick. I set the hook and passed the rod over and 10 min later she had the fish boatside. ITS a MAKO!!! and I'm gonna kill this fish.

All I had was the poon and it wasnt even ready (wasn't expecting a mako in the first 30 min). Before I get a good shot the shark jumps of the water and high tails to the bottom. T gets the fish back up ten minutes later. She's a quick learner. Now the shark is boatside and I put a dart in the back of its head. Game over.

Although we didn't get any tuna Theresa got her first saltwater keeper and her first mako shark. Awesome day on the water.
