i worked in newark for several years. it's not limited to animals. they often treat each other similarly or even worse. i remember this story when i was down there.

Try the new Pitbull ordinance in Worcester MA. Fines for pitbull owners, "pitbull free" shelters (death sentence), muzzles required in public etc. PETA should sue.

In what aspect do we need to worry about the humans? Humans created the modern dog and created the domestic behavior patterns of dogs. I have pit bulls and have worked with many more at a pit bull shelter and it's not the dogs that are the problem it's the people. In my many years of interaction with dogs of all breeds I have been bitten 2 times. Once by a golden retriever and once by a teacup chihuahua. That fact that pit bulls get the stereotype they get makes me sick. All the laws and regulations are pointless. And as far as an abuse case of any breed the penalties should be much worse. Those people need to be controlled much more then the dogs that misunderstood and mistreated and wrongfully stereotyped...people need to be educated about dogs and the history of dogs before they make laws like the ones in Boston and soon to be in Worcester and in other places...and nothing makes a nice dog look mean like a muzzle so the laws will do nothing to help the negative stereotype that pits have already...

Patrick as he has been named is recovering well from the touture that was inflicted on him sometime durring the months of Febuary and March.
3 weeks after he was discoverd in a garbage bag in a garbage shoot in an apartment building, hours from death has gained 5 lbs and is up walking around and loving his caregivers.

He has a long way to go before he will be put up for adoption, but he has a facebook page with nearly 80,000 friends in 3 weeks and offers for adoption from all over the world.

What this woman has done is absolutly horrible. I truely believe in an eye for an eye especially when it comes to torturing poor, helpless animals. Anyone who does this to an animal is obviously a sub-par human being and deserves the exact same treatment...put her in the cell for the 6 month term (off way too easily for such a crime) and left there without food or water and then when she is laying on the ground helpless begging for food and water, just drop her off of a 30 foot high object but only after being wrapped in a trash bag. this monster is going to get off with a slap on the wrist while this little guy has been put through hell.
