Great fish! Awful shirt![]()
That's what you call a NEW ENGLAND'ER!
NO thats what you call a sub 60 lbs fish. If thats the fish, the record is safe.
NO WAY !!!!!!!
just as i was ready to catch an 80 lb striper, this guy goes and does it and messes up my plan. crap. back to the drawing board.
Agree that it doesn't look anything close to 80 to my eyes, but if it was hung on a certified scale, that's that. Photos can be very deceiving. And not to take away from what is an amazing stroke of luck and fishing achievement, but that's one ugly freaking fish.
Al McReynold's is probably thanking the lord he's no longer the one that's going to be hounded, the subject over many years of pointed accusations and whatnot.
That's an interesting thing to consider, though. If I caught a fish I knew, or thought was the new world record, a record that has stood for so many years, and bound to change your life, not financially but as far as being under extreme scrutiny... Not sure what I'd do.
Anyway, congrats to the lucky angler, especially so if that indeed is the new world record bass.
