    Hi Guys,

Been surfing the site the past few days and had to post on the Role Call.

I run out of Marina Bay on "AZURA", an '02 Sea Ray 340 Amberjack. I'm right across the fairway from "TUNA MELTDOWN" as a matter of fact.

AZURA is powered by twin 380 HP Horizons with a voracious appitite for gas, but she'll run 24 Kts all day long in some snotty seas. Have a full set of Raytheon electronics - Chartplotter, GPS, Tri-data, 48" open array radar. Need a good fishfinder and an auto-pilot in a bad way... hopefully this offseason. I'm a USCG licensed Master 50 Ton, and have skippered boats of various sizes since I was 17.

I've fished for mostly stripers, blues, and bones and albies when I get a chance to hit the Vineyard. Last year, however, we tangled with some Bluefin on a couple trips and I have full on Thunnus Fever.

First trip out to the SW Corner will be this Friday... so I'll keep you all posted.

    Hit me up anytime.

    Tight Lines,

    CJ

    Are you at Compo?

Brad, Sounds like your in town. Have been at this offshore game for some time now and am always looking to connect w local crews. My 25 Pursuit Lucky Dog is at Compo and I trailer often to Newport. Send me an email and I will get back to you off line for I don't know how this forum works and I don't want to broadcast my cell # here. Email is cvalante@optonline.net.
I will be in Newport w Dog most of Sept. but as things are slow east of the tails, I may head to Cape May soon where I have a program set up for later this season, although seems things are slow there now unless I want Bluefin. I travel between Newport and NYC regularly during off weather days and can meet at Doc's for coffee. Chris

It's a been a real sickness ever since I caught my 1st Tuna. Since then...have been all over fishing Hawaii, Panama, Carib., Mexico etc. Been a captain for 5 years, but I don't do paid charters. I have a 36' Yellowfin in Niantic and a 21' Hell's Bay in Westport. Have a 42' YF on order, but who knows when I'll get it. Fishing a few tournaments in Aug. out of Block, Nantucket, and the Vineyard. Make about 20 runs to the egde each season, so I'll have plenty of offshore reports. Always looking for crew. Inshore or offshore. My next step is to teach my 3 kids to fish...but they are a bit young...all under 4(but getting there) Maybe I'll figure out how to video one of our trips and post it here one day.

    New guy on board

    Hey guys,

I have been reading this forum for a while, but finally decided that it was time to make it official and become a member. I am a 22 year old recent graduate from UNH and work in sales for a small consulting firm in Portsmouth, NH (with a water front office which makes it hard to stay focused while gazing out the window). I fish on my dad's Grady White 282 Sailfish 'Knot Golfin' out of Hampton Harbor. Been catching stripers, blues, and sharks for years and have dabbled in tuna fishing in the past, but this is the first year we have taken it seriously. He and I are still yet to pop our cherry or even be on the boat when there was a hook up for that matter. Hoping that this slop that is coming up this weekend doesnt blow out the bite that were apparently hot on the NWC yesterday so that I can make the most out of the next two weeks before the boat needs to be pulled on Oct 15th.

I love this forum and I am glad to be on board as a member.

    Tight lines,

    Jim

Welcome Knot Golfin'! I'm a UNH grad who settled into the area myself. Glad you finally joined up here, and we'll no doubt all benefit by having you an active member.

There have been some reports of fish in our area too, and with a weekend of strong E/NE, they just might be closer than you think by the time things settle down.

Again, welcome, and I'm glad you signed up!
