    Thanks Poon Man.
It was a Fisherman's Outfitter bar.
The boat is Chris MacDonald's 35' Duffy (SEA SAW). Its docked in Marina Bay. He's a Needham guy. You may know him?

A piece of crap. The first shot he took hit the gill plate and deflected off and through the fish's fin. The fish was so tired that it rose to the surface like a blimp and Chris was able to pull the fish close and pull the poon out of the fin and stick him in the shoulder. Another ten minutes and we would have lost him. The size 12/0 mustad was starting to straighten out. I do not have one of your poons but my friend Charlie Wade does and it looks like a killer. I don't catch enough of the big boys from my boat.

July 3, 2006. My friend Mike McKay and I picked Chris MacDonald up at his house in Needham at 1:00 am and we got to his boat at 2:00 am. Left Quincy and headed for the Northwest corner of Stellwagon. It was FAC with no wind and we set up a three rod spread with two black bars off the riggers and Tony the Tiger about 30' off the transom. We trolled with the rest of the fleet for about 4 to 5 hours through all kinds of whale, bait and bird activity until around 9:45 all hell broke loose. I was in the pit and thus being my first encounter with a hooked giant I froze still. I could not move. All I could do was stare at the hole in the water and then at the reel as line melted off of it. Greg, a guy we picked up at the dock, who has never caught a fish in HIS LIFE and was still drunk from the night before got the rod duty. I ran the boat, Mike was gaff man, and Chris was at the transom controls and had the harpoon. An hour and a half later it was Game over. The fish was 112" long and estimated at 700#. It had 5 fresh 28" to 30" Stripers in its gut and was still feeding. At the dock it was sold domestically for $2650. That was my first expirience with a giant. Can't wait to do it again. This time I will be on the rod

Shoe: That color would be purple and black 16" streaker. I betting on Green or pink shells with a purple and black trailer!
