John - Not true....this hoo was taken right under the Newport Bridge in Naragansett Bay.
Oh yea, and the bridge is for sale if you want to buy it. Make me an offer.
The hoo was taken at Ryans Horn in a nice slug of water that was well inshore of the shelf. Sometimes you get lucky!
Here's a couple..
SeeVee....WOW!! Awesome!! Caught out East?
Here's my Halloween Tuna..... Many thanks to Dan & Dom for hookin us up
I'll give you 10 milion for the bridge if you believe i have 10 million
The closest i have come to a hoo is 3 seasons ago in early sept 7 miles south of the SW corner of the dump. Hoop and i had my Bro in law out sharkin. We started on the SW corner and had a smoken due south drift in pretty calm seas. About 40 mins before we pulled the plug for the day we had an approx 5' hoo swim up the slick and across the stearn at about 10' out, and a few feet under the surface. It would not take a pitch bait and just slowly moved off. First time i ever saw one in the flesh. Cool looking fish in the water. Now i want to see a "Wahoo in the box" The fishy kind, not the Marty kind..
Not that senoir Elboxo would not be a welcome in the pit.. But that is a different goal all together. One step at a time..![]()
Larry,
The day we thought we got hit, was about a week earlier. Lighting was hitting water all around us, so Damon shut down the engines and electronics. Not 2 minutes later a bolt hit close enough that we all felt it and could electricity running through the tower. About 10 min after the cell passed we started trolling again and wouldn't know, a nuclear sub surfaces about 3/4 mile away.
Great photo from my "Fu Manchu Magoo" days.
AHHH john, The bloody carnage. NICE..
What, no bluefish photos? Nothin like old yellow eyes
