Hi Skip - I mean Stu.
Great Day.
how about this
That great white is unreal........
Just came across this picture my bro took this summer.400 pounder on the right, one on the left was a little smaller.
Nice shot, any pics of the outcome?![]()
Thanks. Negative on outcome shots...neither of the next few shots came out for some reason... they were completely blurred. This pictures is taken a second before the pole leaves my hand, next ones would have been great if they had come out right. He got a new lens this summer, very powerful, and it is taking some getting used to when focusing. But as the season went on his pictures got better and better so hopefully next summer we will get even better ones. That was one of the first bunches we chased that day and we were having trouble getting near them due to the complete lack of wind and so that gave him more of a chance to take some pics. When we got a touch of wind a little later the day got busy quick and unfortunately no more pics were taken. That pic is deceiving, fish are not nearly as close as they look, and the only reason we got that close was because there were only 2 fish in the bunch and the fish were smaller (and therefore not as smart) than the others in the area.
I will be digging through all our pictures from this summer in the next week or two and if there are some good ones I will post them.

Is the season closed for you pooners? Catch your share of the quota?
Season is still open for another month but it might as well have been closed since mid to late August. The weather really hurt us- not only did Bill and Danny do a lot of damage, but its been crappy just about every day. But it really has never been the same since those two big storms rolled through. There are a lot of possible reasons why.
We came very close to catching the quota, close enough that they moved some reserve quota into the harpoon category in August. But then the storms came and the weather sucked and things really shut down. I am fully confident in saying that had we had good weather in June and early July the quota would have been full by then. There were a lot of fish around this summer. That we caught as many as we did with the weather we had speaks to that. Hopefully before its over we will get a good stretch of weather but I am not going to hold my breath. Would have LOVED to have had some decent weather this summer but cannot complain, it was a really good season.

Glad to hear that you guys almost filled it.........
Do you switch over to troll/chunk bite for the fall or just stick to harpoon the whole season? Does the permit not let you harpoon and rod and reel? Sorry for all the questions......
