Serisously I dont know what you are taking about. Your telling me to get lost and all I said is i would have sold that fish. Then someone says you should leave the head on a 85 inch fish. Every fish I catch I take the head off. Its makes dressing it alot easier Maybe on a couple of posts I was out of controll but chill the f**k out. i didnt say anyhing to affend anyone did I?

Some people may take offense to selling an UNDERSIZED fish, thats all. What if you were boarded by the CG or they were waiting at the fish house when you got back in. They would still measure the fish without the head on, it would probably to them seem like a short fish, and they hit you with a heavy fine or take your boat. Just not worth it to risk it.

We left the head on a 88" fish the other day. Removed a gill plate, removed the internals, and packed with ice. That way if we were boarded, they saw it was big enough to sell. Just what we did, good luck to you whether you leave the head on or off.

Hey dun6253 thanks for not flipping out like all these other guys. I kind of see were you and these guys might be going with this but whatever. Just consider all the fuel and days you dont catch them and then catch one like that to pay the fuel bill.

It doesn't matter if you need fuel money! If that fish is an inch short, THEN ITS SHORT!I really don't understand the mentallity of some people. IT IS DEFINITELY GUYS LIKE YOU AND YOUR DADDY WHO GIVE THE REST OF US COMM. GUYS A BAD NAME! I don't know how the wardens handle a beheaded fish on your planet but in RI if it's anywhere near the 73" you had better have the head on it or you WILL lose the fish and WILL end up in court. Last season in Maine there was a very real problem with guys catching mediums just under legal giant size and loining them right in the boat, then selling the meat to some restaurants. They too were caught and I believe one or two of them did REAL jail time. Also last season one guy with a comm. license was arrested for attempting to sell I believe 3000 lbs. of stripers to another idiot who owned a restaraunt. Can't remember the name of the restaurant or I'd throw that up here too. I think they also did jail time and I'm sure that the penalty was stiff. Oh yeah, lets not forget about the loss of your daddys' boat once you are boarded by the officials. This is a very real problem that all of the other fisherman who abide by the law don't need to listen to so if your wondering WHY we seem a little steamed, hopefully this will clear it up for you although I get the feeling it won't sink in so good luck this coming year undersizedtunakiller!

the point is that any fish of that size the pectoral measurement wont meet the feds requirements on all fish thats what i am saying. you start taking heads of fish under that size alot of questions arise. no one is bashing you man just making a point. trust me I know from experience a 111 inch fish with the head of and the feds tried telling me it was a 95inch fish by there standards. I deal alot with this kind of stuff whether it be tuna or other fish.
