That was a good one Don.
You must have some shots like that kicking around somewhere, how come we haven't seen any pics from you yet?![]()

Good releases. The 1st was quick
LOL........good call......pic below, you can just barely see the dart strap poking out of the downside, just in front of the fin. dressed 310 or so, but was only 86-87 inches. To put in perspective, the fish of that length that we were catching in June were dressing about 250, so this one put on around 60 pounds in about a month and a half. Would have loved to have seen what the fish of that size were weighing in November!
Here are a couple more from same pilot, who happened to be in the same area that day working with one of the other Maine boats. In these shots, we had just got two real quickly- my father is re-rigging and I am trying to dress them before they sizzle on deck. (Don- Cannot remember where I hit those..., LOL) My brother missed that day, otherwise he would be dressing them...
This was early June, nicest day of the summer (by far), and wayyyyyy to the E/NE of where I said we caught that last one.

It's great to be able to get a look into how the stick boaters do their thing.... Great posts twofin!
Unloading another one. This one is really skinny (as you can see), so only dressed about 525......this is one of those ones that would dress around 700 if you caught it in the Fall. This was from somewhere on the Middle Bank...cannot remember where. Right after we got it, it breezed up to about 25kts, which put an end to that day real quickly...made for a fun 50nm steam home!

He takes amazing pictures, for sure. I have a ton of pictures of his, I am not supposed to post any (other than the ones of our boat), I will ask him if I can post a few of them in low-res here. He has some really amazing shots, all for sale. He does not have a website but if anyone wants I can put you in touch with him. Its worth the drive to Pt.Judith just to take a look at what he has...they are all amazing.
Flying for tuna boats is nothing for him- he also flys for some Canadian swordfish harpoon boats, at least 200 miles east of Cape Cod! Very few pilots will ever do what these guys do, going so far out in such small planes for 12+ hours. Pretty amazing.
And that is a real cool picture that you just posted, by the way...I love aerial shots. They appear to all be smaller fish (small being anything under 73"), with most being the same size but with some that are quite a bit bigger. It is not a coincidence that its all small fish in the back of the bunch, that is almost always the case...little ones basically acting like a shield for those big ones.

More pics....
I have posted this series before, but not on this forum, so here they are again. Nice pair of 95 inchers, we get the one on the right. These ones were real dumb, you normally dont want to wait so long before throwing!
