Life long dream to build/finish off your own 33ft downeast? Just another 33 fter for you? Downsizing from a 55 and just something to kick around in? Hit the number and got rid of your 18 ft center console? Building your ultimate fishing machine? Or your ultimate cruising machine with the wife? Just curious. There's always a story.
Whatever it is good for you.

Todd-
Congrats man! Can't wait to see her come to life.....if I can be of any help...let me know.
Thanks for all the support.
The build has been in the process for a few years now. Like everyone else, had to sell first before pulling the trigger on the new build. wanted to go bigger and be fuel efficient. With having completed a smaller build in the past and having some good resources I decided to do the kit deal and finish her off myself on the sweat equity plan, sorry no lotto winning ticket here.
I talked to a lot of great builders up north and made the decision to go with the 33 Flowers out of Walpole Maine. Ken, Dave and the crew are a great shop with talent and adding quality to a build. Ken has a page on Face book if anyone wants to follow other builds in progress. He has several molds but most popular are the 30, 33, 36, and 38.
I will continue the the build info tomorrow as its time to bring in the new year.
Drool.............I envy you and congratulate you at the same time. Please keep us posted on the build details. Someday I'd love to do the same, with out getting into specifics, how much money can you expect to save finishing the boat yourself and what kind of projects does that involve? Good luck with what will surely be a fish killer.
JD,
The transom door is always open for ya. Stop by anytime.

Capt. Greg,
The build will have a step up house, flush deck over the engine with a center door to the cabin. The main bulkhead will be pulled back one foot to enlarge the cabin. The cabin will have a v berth with bunks over and one highrise bunk with storage on the port side. The starboard side will be a separate head and one fridge. Due to having all the kids I needed the extra sleeping.
The house will have a wrap around L seating port side and a raised counter on starboard side. One feature will be a half solid wall between the cockfit and house. The lower solid area will be tackle storage with the upper soft windows being able to open. The back roof overhang will extend two feet past the house for some sun/element protection.
The stern will have angled pockets at a 45 for the underwater lights.
As the build progresses I will also update more info.
giggyfish,
I cannot answer your question as every build is different and depending on how much you want to put in at the end. example - quality hardware, electronics, etc. not determined yet and will see how the spending goes.
Forgot to mention three other reason for the build.
Had him putting the outriggers together this morning. He's into it just as much a me.
Ken has my 23ft. on his site trying to sell it for me,as soon as I sell I am either getting his 30 or 33 still on the fence,I am going with an outboard, the Honda dealer said 225 would work on the 30 but if I went with the 33 I would need 2 outboards,The Yamaha 350 would probably do the trick on the 33 but I hate to make a mistake,I told my wife in 93 that this is the last new boat I am going to finish"I promise"let's just say that many more have passed through the driveway since then!Good luck with your new boat, she's a beauty!
