that would be great to make a Hydro run in 2.75 hr.

I've been on a couple - Terry's 33 Contender and someone else's mega Regulator ( 34, 36??). I was shocked on a trip back from the Sword in typical Nantucket/Vineyard Sound crap how dry the Regulator was at 28 knots and how much less it pounded than my much heavier but slower and shorter express would at 20-22 knots.

It ran on top a lot better at 28 than it did down in the waves at 20. Of course the trade off was that every once in a while you took one in the face; something which would be untenable on a 3 hr run to Hydro.

Each time I have a dream of Hydro in 3 hr's I can remind myself of yesterday's ride home in 3-5/3-4's from a following quartering and twisting sea where too much speed would make broaching a real possibility and of course spray flying everywhere each time I ran down a following wave and into a deep trough. I never dipped my bow at 22-24 knots but a faster CC would have been risking a stuffed bow in conditions like that.
