    Thanks,

    Thanks guys.

Dave, the engine is only 4 years old and has 200 hours on it. It is FWC so I plan on getting alot more life out of it before I even start to think repower. I do however got to swap out all the original plastic thru-hulls with some new more dependable brass ones if you care to help with that.

Kevin, I sold the old top to a guy from Chatham. His name is John and is known as hermit on Classic SeaCraft. He bought it but it did not fit up to his console. He said something about cutting it up or trying to sell it. I can get you in contact with him if you want. The top will serve it's purpose but is by no means pretty. Someone at some point in time pulled a pretty nasty hack job on it.

    Dan.

yeah, If you can take the plastic ones out and give them to me I can get the right bronze ones and come over with the special tool for tightening them.

I would appreiciate that Dave. I got a giant tube of 5200 but I just want to make sure there are no leaks. I'll see if I can remove a couple this weekend before the tarp goes on it.

I wouldn't use 5200, You won't be able to remove them in the future if needed, well you might be able to but it will be a total ball buster, you will most likely break the gelcoat in the process. Life Calk is great as long as you prepare the surfaces properly with sand paper and acetone.

I had a problem with water coming in the back on mine too. I installed Ball scuppers and it really helped a-lot.

In terms of the trade off on docking to get sea keeping abilities you will find once you know how to throttle these little boats you can put em wherever someone with a single outboard can.

Quick story for you. This past summer I was at Washburns Island with a bunch of other families and perfect whether in the morning on the way over from Falmouth Harbor which is only a couple miles away. In the early afternoon a few of the guys took my buddies 23 SeaSwirl to Falmouth Harbor to pick up a few supplies. The wind had picked up considerably and we got soaked and beat up at 16mph on his GPS. It was safe and all, just a blowing tight chop with winds picking up.

About an hour later it was time for my family to leave and I had the choice of dropping the family off at friends house on the bay or having them ride home. My daughters at the time were 4 and about 18 months. They normally sit on the seat in front of the console wherever we go, but I had my wife hold the baby and sit next to me, I had my 4 year old tuck in between us. I powered up and put the tabs right down into the headsea. I did 18 knots and didn't take ANY spray on the curtains the whole ride. My youngest fell asleep, my wife had no clue it was very ruff and my 4 year old drove half the way home. We past about 4 other boats in the same size range with ease. The 23 inboard is by no means a fast boat, but it is a very capable little boat.

Thats awsome. Yeah I knew when buying this boat that I wouldn't be breaking any speed records but instead I'll be fishing on alot of days that most other 23' will still be tied to the dock.

Where did you install the swivel rod holders?

Sorry Charlie - we did that ride back from Washburn's this Sept on a windy afternoon - I think DSS was tracking us w/ binocs w/ the kids hunkered down in between us. They thought it was great though...

I have only mounted 2 so far. They are mounted about 2-3 freward of the stern. I utilized the original holes from the original rod holders. I plan on mounting at least 3 more in the near future. I am going to stick one right in the bow and two more somewhere in the stern gunwals.

Thanks Dan, sound like it is not what I would be looking for. BTW I have two LD marine swivel rods holders I am looking to sell, they are the shorter ones for the shorty bent butts, brand new, if your interested.

Yeah, I might be interested in those Kevin. Can you PM me a price and I'll let you know if I can swing it.
