The trip went well we Tagged a 75" fish with a Satellite tag. Jeff made fishing look fun.

To respond to Chris; While they where doing the interviews with me and Ben from "Tag a Tiny' tuna where jumping in the background. We saw some great schools of busting fish from 60 to 80 inches with a few smaller ones mixed in.

Unless they are outright lying to me you all should like what was said. Yes they are making the spill look bad for everyone but no talk of endangered tuna or stop fishing. All the talk was about sustainable fisheries and use of the resource. And the importance of getting good data before flipping off the mouth with hearsay. We made fishermen look good buy showing we care for the resource and are willing to spend time and money tagging a fish that has the potential of spawning in the gulf with a $5000 tag.

The story is only going to be about 5 minutes Wednesday night 7/21 at 6:30 on NBC nightly news. If this changes I will post the time it will air.

    Angry

It sounds as though this is starting off to be a positive story and I give credit to Mr. Sears for trying to put the story of the BFT in a positive light but I can not help but think that this story will somehow be twisted around by the people that run NBC for the use by the hope and change crowd currently running this country. We have recently seen the introduction of slot limits and just this weekend the prohibition of a trophy fish for recreational anglers and as much as I do not want to believe what is next, prepare yourself. The timing of this story is probably not a coincidence and with the disaster in the Gulf (breeding ground for the western atlantic BFT) being broadcast on an hourly basis on television why not take this opportunity to further the cause to prohibit fishing for BFT and blame it on BP. I have been wrong before and hoping I am again but these spin doctors are organized and determined to further their cause any way possible.

    Well,

Brian Williams just advertised tonights special. Sounded a lot like "this could be the end for the bluefin Tuna" Actually those were his exact words. Snakebite! These guys will spin anything to the worst degree.

There is no doubt that your intentions are from a positive perspective for the fishery......Great job!!

The problem I see is once your work is done (again great job)it's in the hands of the media and the parties involved in developing this story.......

    I hope I'm wrong......

    Thumbs up

Greg, Thanks for doing your best !!, I will bring no negative here and instead hope for the best !! Positive media coverage is what we need and we have no control over that. hopefully this will all come out the way it should.
    Thanks again !!

    Don
