    Nauset Striper Bite

    Hi All,

I'm hoping to get some fishing in this Fri-Sun in the Nauset area. Either from the surf (probably north side) or in Nauset inlet. It looks like ht will come around 5-7am each day, so I can catch the turn at dawn.

Any idea how the bite is in this area and whether I should try someplace else? I was thinking of using live eels, or some artificial ones I just picked up.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated! I need to land a big one this weekend!

    Thanks,
    Will

Not sure about the surf fishing. But the bass bite a couple miles off Chatham (60-80') has been excellent

How are you going to get there? If boat; do not stop going at the inlet just head a little East (1mile) and look for the boats. I found them there 2.5 weeks ago and have heard reports of nice fish right up through last weekend.

I think most are jigging Ron-Zs and the like...I found mine on plugs of a certain color and based upon the rods in the background of my friends pics at least some have been on plugs of the same color as well.

How big is big? I know of as big as 43"

    Thanks Chumtini and SoBoSlow.

I will be fishing from the shore- no boat this weekend. That's why I'm thinking eels in the surf, perhaps?

43" would be lovely, but any keepers will do!

Comes from a friend that lives in Orleans:

"Fishing off the beach has been spotty. The beach is fully open to the point. The coyotes have been wiping out the plovers!"

In the past, eels have worked well for me this time of year.
