fished mud hole mon & tue with just my wife & dog aboard looking for bft, found 17 false albacore in 4 hours of fishing, plus a ton of knockdowns. I couldn't find any bft, went back in to block and spent the night and came back out tue and tried again for a couple hours and got one false albacore. then we went 12 miles south of block and started choping up everthing I had in the coolers and tossing it in. in about a hour a 9 foot blue shark arived, and before he could find a bait a 6 foot mako grabbed a mackrel and took off. I had my wife clear the other two rod while I untangled the one with the fish on it. I faught the mako for a bout 10 min and the barrel broke at the top of the leeder. I looked over the side and saw the blue dog was still there. I took one of my other rods still baited with a false albacore head and dropped it down 30 ft. I watched the blue shark eat it, and set the hook. after a short battle I got him next to the boat put the rod in the holder, and got a pair of cutters, and a gaff. I cut him loose after taking his picture, I will get the pictures & vid from my wife's camra and post.
