Menemsha/Gay Head question

Question for the commercial Vinyada's while I unfortunately sit in the office today landbound.

When a dragger goes out of Menemsha heading S for the Dump or Claw is there a clear lane for them between the Green '31" can and the red can east of Nomans or do they have to pick their way through the pots just as I do?

I don't buy that. The lobster guys and the draggers tie up and sell at the same dock; there has to be some unwritten agreement "we won't set pots in this line".

Those pots out there are commercial; the guys there do not want to lose gear and waste time having to grapple for it...

That is true, however as far as I understanding, in areas with lots of conflict (i.e. the MudHole) there certainly are unwritten agreements....

I am not sure there are any draggers out of menemsha going south any more? Almost all of those boats never leave the dock. the ones that do go out pretty much just drag the sound.

I think those draggers, south, are from NB or Point Judith. From what I have seen they run them over.

The pots around gay head are for sure from menemsha.
