Talking MBG-8/29-Another epic day on the AL Dente

Well, not just today, but the entire weekend was amazing out there.

Saturday - Headed out with Cappy Nick, JP, and another buddy of mine from MMA, Rob Weber. We started on the corner and made couple drifts. Great life and small fish absolutely crushing halfbeaks. No bites. We then moved to the bar, made one drift and then decided to move a little bit to where our buddies were in the middle of a great bite. We arrive, ballon goes out. Fish at 60, 40, 30...bang, on. We weren't there 5 minutes. 55". Baits back out, 20 minutes later, balloon again, 68" fish. Baits back out. 45 minutes. Video cam mounted focused on the kite. Kite bait goes nuts, bang, on again. Bite on film!!! 74", and back to the barn. We ended up 3/5. AWESOME DAY!!!

Sunday/today (btw, this has been a RIDICULOUS summer) - Headed out with Nick and my buddy Brad from school. Got to the bank at around 6am. Made one drift onto the high spot, marked great, lots of life....bluefish. We decide to move and re-setup about 15 minutes later. We get a call from a buddy that he has extra bait and we are pumped because we are down to 4. He starts heading over. "Holly Sh*t!!!" Nick looks like he saw a ghost. I turn around and look at the kite. Absolute Pig crushes the kite. I come tight, Brad clears...fish makes no run, and swims with the boat. No run at all for the first 30 minutes. Then he comes alive and dumps 100 yards. We stayed on him hard backing down and kept him close. 90 minutes later, Brad; whos biggest fish before today was 55" DRILLS the fish pefectly with the stick from about 15' away. Like I'm talking lanced it! All on video, which T should have out very soon. Finally got him in the boat and taped out at 94", 75-80"girth. The fish was VERY fat. Our guess is between 600-650lbs.

Again, unreal few days. Can't beat this weather and fishing!

Tight lines for anyone fishing this week.
