So every time my brother from ME comes down to fish, he needs to have a license?

What a joke. How about my niece and nephew who might come out fishing once a year? Or a buddy who is in town and I take out for one day. Do I have to get each of them a license?! It should be a boat license just like HMS.

Keep in mind, the Feds forced this on the states. I'm just happy the money goes to the marine division, in CT the license fee's are 30 for instate and 60 for out of state andteh money goes to the general funds!!!! My days of CT fishing are over.

I think Ma will eventually jack up the fee, probally as soon as 2011, I don't trust cadillac devil at all, but keep in mind this could have been alot worse, it shouldn't have happened to being with but what do you do when feds step in and say you charge or we charge an keep the money???

Right...I get it that Feds forced the issue, but why the individual license? HMS permit is per boat...why not make this the same, or have a boat option that is more expensive than the individual but covers anyone on the boat? Also, what if you are fishing more than 3 miles off?? Fed waters...not state.

i don't really see the big deal? i spend $40/yr on a MA freshwater license and fish maybe once. i buy it to buy it in that remote case i go freshwater fishing. every other year, i fly out to MT and fish the streams out there and have to pay $50+ for a license - that i'll only use for 7 days.

as long as the money is actually used for what it's meant for, i don't see the big deal. it's $10. i'll start complaining in a couple years when it goes the general fund.

If I only had to buy one, I'd have less of an issue...it's having to make sure everyone that comes out on my boat has one that gets me. Also, I live/fish at the MA/NH border, so I'm sure I'll have to buy twice.

What if I decide to only fish in NH, but return to port in MA? This is going to be a mess to enforce.
