Great report Greg. Very tough out there yesterday. We went everywhere looking and got one pogie bite in the 9th inning on the SWC on our way back.

"OOH Boy"

6/29/09

We brought a group of local boys out for a ride around the bank today. We traveled about 90 miles of the bank and Mass Bay. I marked fish everywhere birds and bait diving and skipping everywhere. Big Red Banana marks on the screen from the middle of the Great channel into Cape Cod Bay all the way to eastern shoals of the bank. The friggen fish had Lock Jaw! The water is murky from all the rain and I think this was a big contributing factor. Also the weeds have taken over the ocean poor Kerry and the charter never stopped reeling in the fresh Ocean salad. For all our hard work we where able to pull off a ninth inning home run. We landed a nice 68 inch fish around noon time. Pulled another one out of my butt.

Captain Jeff D on "Bigfish 3" pulled a couple of nice fish today one was a 74" and it was the first fish of the day. So Jeff is off to market with his third trolled market fish. Good Job xxbluefinxx (SFC) one of the best charter captains out there.

To Much Fog

07/ 01/ 2009 Today was "pea soup" could not see a thing we marked tuna but did not get a sniff. Around 9:00 am we went Cod fishing. We loaded up, some of the cod were over 30 pounds crazy day. I have not caught that many big Cod in the same day for a long time.We also caught allot of haddock. It was fun to bottom fish for a change. We also set up a slick after hearing that some Porbeagles and Makos had been hooked. The water seems a little cold for Mako but you never know what might happen. No sharks at all not even a blue.

Sounds like you had a banner day on the groundfish. I still have a dozen vacuum sealed cod fillets in the freezer but your report has me thinking that I might need more.

Fortuna on Fire!!

Today we left the dock at 5:00am. Cam "Fortunamate" was my mate today. We had a group that charters on our boat a few times a year. We arrived at the numbers around 6:am and almost immediately latched on to a nice 60" fish with the bite so early we tagged and released this fish. We then hooked into a fish that was giving us our moneys worth. After a forty minute fight we landed this 79" fatty. After we caught this one we went back looking for another big one. We ended up tagging another 63" fish. A great day for the charter today.
