Nice job guys.
I got a taunting phone call and an emailed cell phone pic from my Dad while it was going on.

Nice work out there today guys. We had a blast just listening to the chatter. Theme for the day had something to do with a guy from p-town, a little lovin, and a ride home. OOOOPS, thats right, never needed the ride home! Yeah, it went off like a prom dress today!! Thats all I'm sayin about my day for now. I'm sure the rest of my crew will have more to say a little later(tomorrow hopefully). After zero sleep on Friday night and a very event jamm packed Saturday, boat was wet at 3 a.m., these nuts headed back to CT for a bachelor party.![]()
P.S.- whoever hired that woman to pretend she was from the NMF and ask us no less than fourty questions each back at Green Haaaba all while we're attempting to load the boat and gear," what did you get your fish on, how many miles did you run, what colors do you think produced best and whyblah-blah-blah."................well, we lied!
Oh and Greg, she instantly said she knows you when she saw my "lucky shirt"!!

They think SW corner is the only place there are tunaThere are also allot of fish at Crab ledge
PS: someone questioned: Striped bass and tuna on the same trip? It is illegal to catch and posses striped bass outside of the demarcation line (EEZ). We are catching Tuna and Striped Bass less than 1 mile from the beach and traveling along the cape cod bay demarcation line to return home. Some of our boats have been boarded by the coast guard and NMFS. If you are caught possessing striped bass outside the demarcation line ( including traveling home ) you are in violation. The fine is usually $100 per fish but could lead to seizure of your boat and heavy fines if you are actually caught fishing for bass in the EEZ. If you have Striped Bass and are leaving Race Point (Province town) you should point to Green Harbor and follow cape cod bay demarcation and avoid Stellwagen Bank until you pass inside three miles from shore in Marshfield and then you can travel to Boston or Gloucester Legally. ( thats only about 50 miles out of your way). If you are doing a combo trip I.E. Cod and Striped Bass you must go Cod fishing first and then go Striped Bass fishing and stay inside state waters. If you do decide to cheat make sure you can prove your tracking so when you go to court you can show you where fishing in state waters (this does not mean that you will get away with it, the judge (boarding officer) could be having a bad day).![]()

It's amazing how every thinks the only place to catch tuna is the north or south corners
Last week we caught in 400ft somewhere se, yesterday 240ft somewhere east,(both days no boats anywhere near us other than the friend I called in or I got called in on them) week before we caught on the ,sw corner LONG before the other boats showed up, then left for better grounds as soon as the crowd showed up and found life & fish on other grounds.
Good job yesterday, Greg![]()
So it looks like the rest of the Sears family killed it yesterday... My self on the other hand was fooled by the weather man, guilt tripped by my girlfriend, and then spent 4 glorious hours in the engine room of the Al Dente II...Jealous.
Nice job Guys!

I used the last couple of rainy days to clean up the boats and gear. We are up for a good stretch of weather starting Thursday. I have to go to a meeting tomorrow regarding our fisheries up in Portland ME so I will use my last rainy day for this. Going out for the next round of charters starting Thursday. I hope to catch a couple of these:
I had a family from Ohio today. They came fishing for a present to their son who is heading off to West Point Sunday. I was in the Grace our 30ft Grady we use as a fill in boat. The Fortuna was down for maintenance today. I trolled SW corner for about 2 hours without a sniff. During that time Jeff Depersia from "Bigfish 2" caught 3 fish on Squid Bars. I was going crazy because I was right next to him every time he hooked up, I was even talking to him when he hooked one of his fish. I thought it was the boat for me. I gave up and took the people over to the race we caught and released about twenty bass. We then went back to the corner for a slow pogie death by dogfish. Our pogie died alright but not by dog fish, by a 65 inch Tuna. Real nice way to end the day. PS: Thats what I call pulling one out of my butt.![]()

It doesn't matter how you getr done or how long it takes as long as you getr done.
WTG Greg.
Pretty slow day yesterday for the crew(s) of Mass Bay Guides. We had charters on four boats; Fortuna, Labrador, Grace, and Enoch. Bryan Sears was aboard the Al Dente II Commercial fishing.
The tuna score for the day was:
Fortuna: 0
Labrador: 0
Grace: ...had a pogy bite first thing in the AM..didnt get the hook
Enoch: 0
Al Dente: 1, Bry and Nick got a fish all alone around 10am. It hit "Trick or Treat" tight to the boat. Nick Mazzocco was on the rod for his first fish in a couple years do to "battle injury."
Bry got the fish on leader next to the boat...measured out at 70"...tag and released along side using small lip gaff in the lower jaw.
If any of you guys want to get involved in a tagging program, UNH's "Tag a Tiny" program (http://www.largepelagics.unh.edu/tagatiny.html) is how to get started.
Congratulations to my friend Dave from the Cathy Ann who got his first Giant 80" fish. My charter was thrilled to watch him battle and raise the fish on the pole. Dave is one of the best Striped Bass fishing charter boats in New England. He has just started Tuna fishing the last couple of years, due to some persuasion from his Mate "Twiggy" (Sponge Bob) and all the tuna he has been seeing for the last 30 years.
