    Last Hu"Ra" Nov 19 & 20 2009

Two days with a bunch of SFC keyboard jockeys. It was nice to put a face behind allot of you guys. Everyone knows who they are and you where all a great group.

Nov 19th I have 5 SFC critics on for their last chance at a BFT this year its getting late and the water is cooling quick the BFT could be gone any minute.

06:00 Departing Scituate everyone is early and we are off to a great start.
07:00 We arrive at SWC to find whales everywhere.
07:30 Allot of chatter about seeing tuna but no bites
08:00 We hear one of our members has caught a nice 60" BFT ( ATG Terence on the Jenny Lee)
09:00 We are seeing tuna popping all over but no bites.
09:01 Fish boiling on the short Left
09:02 Try to tease it but the fish never returns.
10:00 All the SFC guys are starting to wonder if I am just good at Photo Shop.
11:00 My mortality is starting to dwindle I think I'm going to get some bad Threads on SFC.
12:00 Proof that I must be good at Photo Shop.
13:00 Just adding more fuel to the fire.
14:00 OK it get dark at 16;30 what time can I stay here to?
14:45 I call it a season for some of the best guys on SFC and I put my tail between my legs and chalk it up to I better stay on my toes for next year.
16:00 Just one more cup of Coffee for 2009 and then we sprinkle a little winter cheer.

    Nov 20th 2009

Again two more of SFC's finest out for their last opportunity.

06:15 We depart a little late ( some excuse about the highway being closed?)
06:45 Still got 10 to go Head sea all the way I feel like I am in a Maytag washer.
07:30 Finally on the bank got some birds and whales.
    08:30 I think I saw a Tuna Jump?
09:30 Oops did anyone see that?
10:30 Starting to feel like more bad threads and posts.
11:30 I better do something or some of those guys who where busting "Fortunamate's" balls are gonna start busting mine!
11:31 I decide to move off the corner and go North.
11:32 Huston we have problems we are starving for fuel we are losing main power Scottie boost the throttle nothing happens.
12:00 Problem seems to be fixed we changed the RACOR and re primed the system.
12:01 I call it a half day before my season ends with a bill from Sea Tow.
13:00 we arrive back in Scituate and Load the rods in the truck. I hope my friends from SFC understand thats why they call it fishing.
13:01 I sit back with my last cup of coffee for the 2009 season and pondering back at what a great season I had and how I felt as though I am at the top of the world doing what I love. I can't wait to get back out there again.

I will keep this thread going for the year to come, we will post any info on this thread.

Too bad you couldn't end the season with a couple of fish. Congrats on a great season.

    Tremendous season!

First off, I cannot believe that there is another "Terence" out here. Other than that Trent D'arby fellow, I mistakenly assumed I was unique in BFT fishing circles.

With that said, I just wanted to tip my hat to you Greg, as well to Bryan and Taylor. I freely admit that I have only been at this game for a few seasons and that I have a long way to go in terms of understanding the art & science behind fishing for Bluefin Tuna.

What has absolutely amazed me is how willing you guys are to not just share your knowledge, but also to educate on how best to implement that know-how. My take on this business/hobby/passion when I initially caught the bug (that eventually developed into full-fledged addiction) was that it would be extremely difficult to get real, meaningful guidance on how to do things the right way. Thanks for changing that initial assessment.

Looking forward to the seminar in March!

I couldn't believe that it was November out there on Thursday. FAC and wasn't too cold during the day either. Can't wait to make another trip on the Fortuna. Although we didn't hook into a tuna, it still was a good day. Some great whale feeds going on out there. Will be back for sure in April.........

Great job, Greg. You did all you could on Thursday to try and get us a fish. Some days it just doesn't matter what you do, l will vouch for you any day and I'm counting the days till April when I can jig some cod with you guys.......oh you forgot to mention how great Taylor's bars raise harbor seals. Thanks again, Giggy

It was a great day on Thursday w/ FAC conditions, great weather, nice whale show, good number of tuna, and just no bite.

I got to practice my whale photography, which sucks. Below is a picture of a humpback rolling on the trick or treat bar!!

    Thanks,
    Pete

    Cool Slaying Magees.

No, this isn't a Tuna report but, we did manage to hookup to some nice LM Bass the other day. My brother, Kerry, and myself drove down to a "secret pond" down the street from Kerry's house. When we rolled up on this place I was a little skeptical; it was small and surrounded by cows and bulls (last time Taylor was there, he actually got stampeded by the damn things). With that said, this place is Absolutely UNREAL. I am not a huge fan of freshwater fishing, but this was great. I think we ended up with 16 fish in 2hrs, and 8 were over 3lbs. All on rattle traps. Had a blast!

Here are a couple camera pics.
