Nov 5 2009

We took a great group of guys out for a 1/2 day tuna trip.

06:30 Depart Scituate harbor
07:30 Arrive at the fleet on SWC
07;31 Drive past the fleet
07:45 Put the rigs in east of the corner
08:00 Fish boil on the close right rigger
09:30 I think every boat has hooked up Including a kayak but not me?
09;35 Boil on the short rigger again.
10:20 I am getting very frustrated watching all these tuna jump and no bites.
10:21 "Fish On" Trick or Treat in the wash. looks like a double coming keep the Riggs in.
10:25 No double we have a nice fish on the 130# all the guys are taking turns.
10:50 we Land a nice BFT in the 150 to 200 pound range.
11:30 heading for the Barn
12:30 Just sprinkle a little water around and get me a cup of coffee.

PS the Kayak Caught a fish estimated about 200 pounds on a spinning rod. If anyone knows this kid get some pictures. I heard this was his second big fish in his kayak. He does this legally paddling himself back to shore and he has a permit. Here is the hole story http://www.capecodonline.com/apps/pb...WS11/911059971

Nov 10th 2009

Had Taylor and his friend Bill from Mass Maritime out for a late morning run.

10:00 Left Scituate Harbor
11:00 Arrive at SWC
11:01 "Rigs in"
12:00 Rigs are still in Tuna popping in one's & two's all over.
12:01 all the other boats are complaining that these fish have not been biting all day
13:00 Still trolling and watching fish pop.
13:05 I spot some pushing fish and I have a good angle on them. I tell Taylor and bill to get ready.
13:06 Taylor has the camera on the rigs.
13:10 I am creeping on this school of fish and we have a couple of fish around 400 pounds push and pop right in front of us.
13:15 Swing and a miss on the left.
13:16 Swing and a miss on the long.
13:17 Swing and a "Fish On" short right "Trick or Treat" Taylor has it all on film.
13:18 Bill is strapped in and fighting stand up on a 50 Shimano.
13:45 We land a nice 60+ BFT
13:46 Heading back home.
14:46 Just sprinkle a little water around and get me a cup of coffee.

And for sake of the Poon contest here is the picture

Hey Capt Greg
It was a pleasure to meet you and see the Fortuna beauty! Glad to hear you say that Monday was a tough day....I think we just got lucky with one dumb fish out there!

I will take you up on the May tuna and maybe we can get on your boat in the spring!

Love your posts!
Capt Rich
