    MBG Tuna and Dogfish video

Well the charter we had on board Sunday wanted an individual charter video. The two girls were doing a report on sharks and needed some dogfish to dissect in class. They were also going to play the video as a part of their report. This short video has footage of 2 nice bluefin and a few dogfish Makes me wanna puke...enjoy

I took Kerry and his son Collin out for a nice father son outing. kerry has not kept any Tuna for himself this year and wanted some meat for the freezer.

    07:00 We left Scituate Harbor
    08:00 We arrived at SWC
09:00 Jay from the "Laura Jay" called me to say he hooked a fish about 2 miles from me ( Thank you Jay)
09:10 We find Jay and put the rigs in
09:20 "Fish On" Collin is fighting his first BFT
    09:35 Collin lands a nice 46" small
    09:40 Rigs back in
09:55 "Fish On" plus "Fish On" doubled up
09:56 Collin is reeling his second BFT ( we let the other one run)
10:05 Collin gets another 45" to the boat and we release.
10:06 Collin is fighting fish number three (the one we let run)
10:20 Collin wants to give up but we do not let him
10:35 We land a nice 58" fish medium Collin wants to go home.
10:40 heading Back to the Barn
11:40 We film Kerry cutting the tuna ( He will be doing a talk about cutting tuna at our seminar March 6th 2010 )
12:00 Just sprinkle a little water around and get me a cup of coffee.

    No problem Greg.

One of mine almost made market - but close only counts in hand grenades, so I've got a big bunch of steaks.

    Taylor's Squidbars did their thing.

You guys were on the Labrador today right?, I think I saw you guys coming into Scituate when we were going out. Only made it halfway to the SWC to where we saw busting tuna on memorial day and trolled all the way back in. Today was just not the day to be in a 23 footer. Caught a bunch of mackerel and went over to 4th cliff to live line em to see if there were any stripers left but no luck except something that grabbed a mackeral that we put out on a balloon. It was something big and it was not budging but it kept trying to pull the balloon under. Spit the hook before it got to the boat, then about 2 minutes later we see 3 or 4 seals, so you do the math, lol, Peta would of had our asses.

P.S. I hate my luck with weather, yesterday at around 9 a.m. they called for 1 foot seas 5 knt winds, then around noon it was saying 3-4 foot seas 12 knt winds, so we decided to try it anyway....urrgghhhh

    Oct 27 2009

Mixed party day today we had a great group. A marina owner and his brother in law, a Painter, a Drag Boat racer from Texas. And an Americas Cup Sailor from Martha's Vineyard.

07:00 We leave Scituate Harbor in the dark
08:00 We arrive at SWC to find a pretty big fleet of boats.
    08:01 I avoid the fleet
08:10 Trolling east of the fleet toward the east.
08:30 Still trolling but I see a couple of birds working to my port decide to do a U turn to the birds.
08:35 My friend Tom King keeps trolling east and hooks up.
    08:36 I U turn again
08:55 Tom Hooks up again (innuendos flow from my lips)
09:10 Tom tells me he is going Cod fishing they are all done with tuna, (more innuendos)
09:15 "Fish On" Drag boat racer is cranking like he is running a 1/4 mile.
    09:30 We land a nice 46" small
09:31 Rigs back in ( the crew is like a well oiled machine with Kerry barking orders.)
10:15 Every Rig is getting whacked
10:16 "Fish On" but only one I thought we where going to at least triple.
10:16 The Sailor is on the rod and pulling line like its the spinnaker coming down.
    10:45 we land a nice 70" BFT.
    11:30 Cod fishing s%$cks
    12:30 Cod fishing really s#%cks
13:30 I give up on Cod fishing we head for the barn with only 10 Keepers.
15:00 Just Sprinkle a little water around and get me a cup of coffee.
