hooked one casting a popper 215ft, 5 miles headin back to scituate from the SWC. Fought it for 20 minutes before the hook pulled, probably 50-60 inch fish when I got a look at it.

Saw ridiculuos pods of fish from the SWC all the way to 4 miles out of scituate. Had 4 missed hook sets and that one fight. We would see a pod killing bait and get 4 or 5 casts before they went down, then they would pop up 50 yards away. Even saw a whole school pushing water right in the middle of Mass Bay. It is gonna be a good season.

thats awesome you were able to get a bite over stone ledge, that place s notorious for holding fish that are just finicky. I have stopped there on the way out and the way home to try and hook those things and they just dont touch baits, sluggos anything

That would be the second one I've hooked, first was on a X-rap I casted out and the second would be on a Pro-Strike popper, I just casted the popper out there and would pop it and let it sit for about 20 seconds.

I saw those same fish too. From the old "H" buoy all the way to the SWC. Nice job getting a hook in one.

Seems like the fish are moving up...and in. Had a 70" class fish go airborne off my bow while bass fishing further north; less than a mile offshore.

Was that you I was talking to on the radio around 5 or 6? The radio wasn't too clear on my end. I had no tuna gear on board, we were bass and blue fishing then went to Stony to grab some cod, the footballs were there with a few pilot whales munching macks, Nice job

yea that was me on the radio right after we pulled the hook on that fish. I wanted to see if anyone else was seeing what we were seeing. There were so many small schools of them pushing up bait everywhere and I wanted to know if it was happening all over the bay

looked to be all small fish where I was, the bluefish were blasting bait in the bay that day too. Looking good this year.
