I figured this probably won’t be any good but lets go take a look see? The Bridge is only a few hundred yards from my canal and I began to throw my, actually, Peter’s Yo-Zuri Crystal Minnow he left on my boat lol…
and Bam on the 3rd cast close to the bridge piling I nailed this Schoolie Thank’s Peter

1st Bass of the season April 12 2010

Woke up this morning 5:30 am looked outside saw no wind and said oh today should be the day….

I got to my boat and headed for my favorite spring spots

I decided to go with a Yozuri Crystal Minnow since the bass usually been eating Herring and Spearing bait fish.

    Yo-Zuri Crystal Minnow

On my 4th cast I got hit and I wasn’t expecting it and missed the hook up!!!

I said “I won’t miss the next time” Plus a few choice words and then proceeded to play catch and release with

a few Stripers to 25″. I know they weren’t keepers and the season officially opens up on April 15, 3 days away

But I was happy with my line Zipping out and the fish were very feisty and the water temps were 52/53 degrees

all fish were caught around 8 to 8:30 am on the last of the incoming tide 5 mph NW light winds Bright Sunny Day

also tried with no luck 007 diamond jig with green tube, 1.5oz White/Green Blue frog Bucktail with Red Uncle Josh and Sand eel teaser and Storm shad

Great post, I always seem to miss that first hit every year as well. I think you have to shake off the cobwebs. Hopefully there will be enough to send some north.
On a different note, did you ever have any family in Boston? Peluso is part of my family. .......maybe we are long lost cousins......ha ha ha
