Sorry but im not a fan of the blackfins looks so I guess it will be a carolina classic or an henriques. My next question however is how old of a boat would you really go for. I realize it depends on condition but say its in good shape.

Reality is not what you can get a CC28 for, but what it will cost you to maintain and run it year to year.
I have a pretty good sense of the running costs and maintenance of one and its not cheap. start here to get a sense of costs/options/value/etc. http://carolinaclassicboatowners.com/forums |

Henriques
Henriques hands down.... i fish a 28 Letter Of Marque out of wickford RI. thing is a beast. raises fish. huge back fish decks and fishes like a bigger boat then a 28. makes the canyons and sips fuel. she rides great. and it should be up for sale in just a few weeks. moving up to a bigger one. most likely a 35. i hope for the 38. keep me in mind when you decide maybe you just wanna take a closer look at a 28 henriques, let me know ill hook you up.

The guy in the slip a few over has a 29 blackfin. He has put it up for sale recently and the question came up as to why he was selling it. He told us that he took a wave over the bow on the last trip and the water rolled down the gunnel and filled his cockpit 1/2 way up with water? We all know about the low bow height in these but another consideration is the cockpit floor below the water line. He said he was scared shitless. Scuppers needed to be 10 times the size.
The Henriques is a REAL boat made for real fishing conditions. Been there...done that.

Save up your coin for a 36 Dawson, that beast of a boat has been banging out tuna all season. Simply put, that boat raises fish and the chicks really dig it too.

Tony, you dog.
I stop in and here you are. For those who may not know him, Tony/Showtime is a first class guy and a tuna magnet. Those Parkers may get banged around a little, but they catch fish, at least in the right hands. |

Northeast, Go with the Henriques. Nice boat, well built, a little slow for my taste, but it will get the job done well with the fewest headaches.
