I caught a fish once :)
Lot's of Action for the Labrador and Fortuna on the Bank Today
After delaying two days due to weather, Jay, Paul, and their dad - up from the Carolina's just to go out on the Labrador - made it out to Stellwagen Bank. Trolling with black at the way back, brown in the middle, and trick or treat at the transom, we hooked the way back 45 minutes into our troll.
Jay - still recovering from his last outing on the Labrador (battling a 400 pounder on a 50 for almost two hours before pulling the hook) - wisely decided to turn over the rod to his much younger brother Paul who, unitl now, was known only for his uncanny ability to catch just about everything no one cares to eat (skates, etc...). After close to a half an hour battle Paul successfully reeled in his first tuna, a 55" beauty. Thank you to Cory who finished off the fish with the perfect harpoon shot - right through both gill plates - not easy to do on a little BFT - awesome job Corey. If you can nail the little ones, the big ones are a piece of cake.
The rest of the day was spent in rapt anticipation of the Fortuna's continuous tuna updates as they brought in one after another... we lost count at three. Great job Greg and Dave!
Lot's of fish out there - we were on the east side of the southwest corner. The tuna are eating halfbeak's for the most part, but don't be afraid to troll rubber or even rig ballyhoo.
All in all it was a great day out there for the Labrador and Mass Bay Guides.

That was quick and well written too. Thanks Don, you are responsible for my 2010 fishing adventures. They will rank at the top in my meager list of fishing experiences. I assure you, God willing, I will be back in 2011 to kill a giant standup. Here I come Eliptical, but first we are off to eat some local stir fry Skate.
Stellwagon is where its at boys, come and get it.
