Good luck.
Catch a 60lb on a ballyhood.
call it 100lbs. easy as pie.
actually, the 32oz 25kt model is interesting. I could see dropping one back south of Coxes and running it to the edge. one never knows.....
My stand-by trick is to go with blind a$$ luck.
The only wahoo I ever hooked was with you... so my blind a$$ luck on my own seems to be lacking.
Mike
re-rig all your stuff with cable underneath skirts and hope thats enough to prevent a bite off and eventually you will get one.
if you start getting bite offs switch over to wire rigged straight runners like a BCT Ono, Ilander/squid skirt combo and a bonita plus. Plus up the trolling speed.
They tend to like the small skipjack, so if you get into the little mushies your prob in wahoo country.
BUT most importantly...take picture using a good angle so that the fish will look big enough when telling story.
No idea but i am reading every reponce on this thread LB. Hoo is a leftover on the wishlist from 2010.
really wide angle lense on your camera and push it as far away from your body when your buddy takes the photo.
when we fish the cabo area we do best very early in the grey,blk/purple skirts on chrome heads and Marauders are the most consistant. When the sun gets up usually slower.FWIW,Tom
Larry, we have had decent success the last two seasons with Islander / Bally combos in pink & white, blue & white and purple & white. We have also had a couple eat marauder style lures off zwing planers. 2009 was great for wahoo both in the dump and at the edge. Here is a shot of a 64" 81lb fish that ate a small pink & white islander bally combo 10 miles north of Atlantis in late September. The fish was on the warm side of a 65 - 74 degree break. Good luck.
