So if I understand this you do a loop to loop connection with the braid on the reel and the braid side of the windon....the mono top shot is "handcuffed" into the loop side of the windon connection....wait does that make sense If so what is the advantage vs. doing a straight handcuff mono to braid??

    All good info Thanks!!
Adhesive stops slippage does not increase strength of connection.

The advantage of loop connections is that it is easy to change out leaders in case you get one frayed or you want to go to a different pound test.

If you have SOLID braid backing, then a bimini in the solid braid to the end loop of your top shot is a great connection.

If you have HOLLOW braid backing, then a straight up handcuff is 100%.

You can also splice a short section of hollow braid onto the tag end of your sold braid so a spliced loop can be made, eliminating the bimini to make the loop.

    Right Capt. George
