Landing a tuna with a compound bow.....is this legal??

Are there any bowhunters out there?

    Here's a Q for you.....

If you're bringing a fish to the boat on rod & reel, could you use a compound bow to drive the retrieval line into the fish?

You know, you'd rig some sort of anchor & line system....

    I don't know, stupid idea.....I guess

I don't see why not. It's not IGFA legal, but no different from using a harpoon I guess. I'm sure it would work though. I know that Mathews has bowfishing setups for big game such as sharks, etc.

This year I was 10 miles east of PH and had 150-200# fish everywhere around us.....my thoughts exact LMAO...how much fun it would be with a spear gun to just throw chunks into the feeding frenzy and pick a fish you want

Anything is possible I guess...just watched a guy tonight on TV chasing big game on a jet ski off the coast of New Zealand

I honestly dont know....but i am dying to try it.....i fling litteraly thousands of arrows a year from my bow.....between myself and my family...aka my redneck bro in law.....dont even think about shooting more than one arrow at the target...under 40 yards it will cost you a knock....yes we get off on that kinda stuff.....we actually flip a coin to see who goes first knowing dam well the first guy up more then likely just donated an arrow.....free swimming mahi are huge on my list.....i figure if i can button hole a bunny a fish is attainable.

i was actually thinking about diving on the bank with a spear gun and trying to get one but upon loads of research it is illegal to kill them with anything that is not manually thrown.

A couple of months back there as a thread about some antique harpoon guns.

I had a hard on for a week to get one. They're about $3k.
