Karen Lynn Great Tuna Trip !

With a break in the week from charters we decided to head offshore to try our luck at some giant's. We loaded up the Karen Lynn and headed to the nothern edge a good 170 mile steam.
Beautiful weather upon us we arrive 15 hours later to the fishing grounds. We start chumming and a short time later the fish finder lights up and were on ! During the fight we continue to chum, as I look over the side to my amazement two giant's are eating chum right off the transom amazing to say the least in every aspect. We landed the first fish and were quickly on to the next one and shortly after that we had our limit of giant BFT.
The giant tuna fishing was as good as it get's truly a trip we will not forget. There are not to many times you can have giant tuna sucking down baits within reach. We are hoping to get back out there soon as it is tough to think about anything else!
    Good Luck to all !

Really awesome story! I'll never make it out there due to the distance but tell us recreational guys some details. Did you use live bait, how deep are you in, do you look for signs of life that far out or is it all based on reports?
