    Judgement Day Today

Is today judgment day to see if we all get screwed by an ESA listing? NOAA sure takes their time and use every single day as planned. Will they have a press release or will the announcement which effects thousands of fisherman be buried in a pile of other information somewhere?

Let's cross our fingers hope for the best and thanks to the ABTA, fisherman, elected officials who wrote letters supporting BFT tuna fishing.

I called today and was told they are still "working on it" and that it could be "days or weeks" and that is just how it is. The lady I spoke to was very short and sweet. Really sucks the way our government works lately. What a bunch of freaking crap. This never should have even been supported. Capt. Eric

Unreal...they had the hearings and about 6 months to figure it out. Between the Rather report and the threat of lawsuits from the fish huggers they probably need the extra time to decide how best to cut their losses. It all comes down to money and pleasing Comrad Lubchenco"s "FISHBATS".

In the long run it is the Administration in power who is calling the shots. Personally, the election cant come quick enough. I have had enough of change to last the rest of my life.

Well, if it's any sort of a early indicator for the next election cycle, the guy I just purchased a flagpole from said he's selling a bunch of "Don't Tread on Me" flags lately. I'm his most recent customer for one too.

As you guys know, despite having a "deadline" for the 24th, they did not decide to stick by it. As if they have not put us all through enough needless torture as it is, they make it worse by now leaving the decision up in the air without any real word on when the decision will be made. We are obviously doing everything we can to get to the bottom of this, and will let you know if we get any news. Amazing this thing was ever allowed to happen!

Saw somewhere they can give themselves a 6 month extension if they want to then it's a hard date. So that would mean the hard date that they absolutely have to make a decision is 6 months from May 24.

My guess is well be hearing something within a week or two at the latest, but I could be wrong.

If we can survive thing thing, we should all do our part to make sure everyone knows how screwed up the ESA law and process is. There is no justification for letting some radical enviros from Arizona to disrupt a whole industry like this for no good reason. Our laws should be better than this.
