Hey Gerry
Welcome to SFC I know a little about Bar Harbor and presume you're talking about saltwater guides Not sure what they have for striper action up there but can say you might be better off considering a party boat (head boat) in Bar Harbor.....expecting that most will offer some decent groundfishing With that said, there's a chance of seeing halibut and tuna up there depending on how far offshore they go http://www.barharborinfo.com/members...fishing_trips/ Geez, I just looked up the Bar Harbor Chamber website and it looks pretty anemic....for fishing options...here's one that talks about a 4-hr inshore trip around the islands of BH~ there's also usually a ton of big mackerel up there......my boys are 9 & 11 yrs and they're psyched to haul on big macks.....but I'm not sure that works for everybody. Oh, I did talk with a local back in June in BH and he told me that they usually see a lot of stripers in the Union River which runs thru the town of Ellsworth, ME (you will drive through Ellsworth to reach BH~ so, you might be able to check out local guides that frequent the Union for stripers)- another thought for ya Hope this helps- enjoy yourself Rich |
